Hello everyone, this is the first content update of the Open Alpha release! While not everything is finished, we wanted to go ahead and push out what currently exists to gather as much feedback as possible.

Additions

Strange Signal

  • Your ship detects an old signal that seems to be related to the Heart of Vyros. Use your galaxy navigation skills to find where it’s coming from!

Corrupted Data Core

  • Some planets have a corrupted data core on them. The merchant might know how to fix it…

Artifacts

  • Artifacts exist in a strange place that isn’t very easy to get to
  • Activating an artifact makes you feel like nothing happened… and yet everything is different?
  • Each artifact changes the world in a unique way once activated

Balance Changes

Merchant

  • Now gives less mods if you don’t have many unlocked, mostly to not look as confusing
  • Doesn’t always sell a tower
  • Tower cost reduced from 40 -> 30

Laser Drill

  • Now has it’s own upgradable health via the Fuel Ship tree
  • Base health reduced from 100 -> 75

Wizard Lizard

  • Base health 10 -> 8

Tank Lizard

  • Base health 10 -> 15
  • Shield health 20 -> 15
  • Attack speed 1.5s -> 1.75
  • Damage 0.8 -> 1.0

Enemy Generation

  • Each planet has its own difficulty preference now instead of being mostly random
  • Difficulty is more linear instead of being too easy, then too hard, then too easy again

Scrypt Acquisition

  • Scrypts per system has been reduced from (35 * systems_jumped) to a flat 30
  • Scrypts per planet has been increased from 10 -> 15

Bug Fixes

  • Game no longer crashes when attempting to apply an empty inventory slot
  • “Charge” has been renamed to “Fuel” and slightly reworked to be less confusing
  • UI now hides during landing/takeoff
  • Merchant shop doesn’t change when going down to the planet and back up
  • Galaxy Navigation UI updates when first opening
  • Enemies shouldn’t spawn inside the fuel ship and get stuck
  • Inventory slots correctly change border color to the mod tier

Under Construction

The following are still in an incomplete “in development” phase, so they might feel like something isn’t quite right. We hope to have them fully implemented in the next update!

  • The Shrine of Vyros is still under construction and missing a lot of animations, sounds, and “feel goods” that should be added soon
  • The portal system has no special boss fight or real portal
  • Artifacts don’t give meaningful unlocks, and you can’t disable them yet
