Greetings Wanderers!

Welcome to the first update for the Wander Vyrosa open alpha! This update was mostly focused on fixing bugs and improving accessibility, but there are some new little features we think you’ll enjoy! A full changelog for this update can be found below. Happy wandering!

Additions

Random resource generation

  • Resources are now randomly generated on a per-planet basis, which is displayed to you in the system navigation
  • Enemy loot drop effect
  • Tower destruction effect
  • Tower information panel has been slightly redesigned to fit the screen better

Balance Changes

All towers

  • Mod slots have been reduced from 3 -> 2
  • Comments: Mods are extremely powerful, and the 3rd one tended to take a tower from being “good” to being OP and making the game boring

Laser cannon

  • Base health 10 -> 8
  • Base build time 3s -> 4s
  • Damage 1.5 -> 1.25
  • Attack range 8 -> 6
  • Bullet spread 0.1 -> 0.15
  • Comments: The laser cannon is really, really powerful even without any upgrades or mods applied, and adding those to it made the mid-game far too easy.

Resource Drill

  • No longer a starting tower to reduce complexity for new players

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the issue of some players not getting to play the game
  • Tower health bars now properly show up
  • Laser cannon no longer shows up in the middle of the planet before placing a tower
  • Landing particles are in the correct position
  • Tower information panel no longer displays default values
  • Tower information panel correctly updates when selecting different towers
  • Tank no longer breaks after it loses all of its shield HP
  • Wizard Lizard now correctly attacks towers at its farther range of 5
  • Enemies no longer spawn right on top of the laser drill for sneak attacks
  • Towers no longer sometimes infinitely track enemies that are outside of their range
  • Gatling muzzle flash no longer lingers
  • Enemy pathfinding has been improved
  • Flora should behave properly on snow and desert planets
  • Fixed landing animation
  • Fixed planet travel animation
